You will need to add a detailed fair use rationale to explain why you are using the non-free or Fair use media. See here for an example: Image:UGAC_cast.jpg.

D&D alignment userbox

Hey I am now using your D&D alignment userbox and I have a short suggestion on how to make it more customizable. You don't have to do this (and I will still probably have it even if you don't add this) but you could change "This User's allignment is '''[[Neutral]]'''." to "This User's allignment is '''[[{{{1}}}]]'''." So that anyone can put {{User:Sirkad/Userboxes/D&DAlignment|Neutral Good}} and have that displayed. My character is Neutral Good. But Neutral is fine with me if you don't want to change it! (I don't want you to feel obligated to either). Thanks for the userbox! Deflagro C/T 05:28, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! And thanks for the barnstar! Out of curiosity, what class do you play? Deflagro C/T 16:26, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm a fighter, but I'm gonna start multi-classing as a swashbuckler. I finally figured out what my character is. Basically he's just in it for the loot. So I realized it'd be better to be a swashbuckler then some fighter type thing. Deflagro C/T 18:08, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah same here. Being nice is fun, but then sometimes you just want to be sarcastic to people and can't when you are a rightouse paladin and stuff. (also the sarcasm userbox is User:Aeon1006/Userboxes/User Sarcasm). Woohoo! I get to play in about 45 minutes for the first time since the beginning of summer! Deflagro C/T 20:12, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Dungeon crawling. At the end three of the cultists did a spell that made my bro disappear and the wizard that we found and helped us turned out to be the DM and now my bro is DMing the next game. Weird twists..... Other than that it was pretty fun. Fought a giant centipede...that was pretty weird. It climbed onto the ceiling and we shot a rope over it, got the dwarven fighter to hold one end while me and the rogue climbed up. I somehow missed stabbing it when I was on it's stomach. The rogue couldn't attack because he had shot the bolt with the rope over and used up his turn. Since I failed the attack I fell off... It was a pretty weird fight. The game was pretty fun! Deflagro C/T 03:07, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. And since I somehow miss stabbing it with a holy greatsword, I fall off. It was one of those what the heck moments. Deflagro C/T 03:38, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

I want it to be a normal star with a circle with the england flag inside. And it should be awarded for good contributions to england articles including sports. Sunderland06  21:37, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
And your barnstar is really good, actually i want an english flag alternative of that, sorry if i wasted your time.  Sunderland06  22:00, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Your signature

Would you consider toning down your signature please? To quote WP:SIG, "signatures that take up more than two or three lines in the edit window clutter the page and make it harder to distinguish posts from signatures." Yours covers 4 lines and should be toned down a bit. Thanks for your consideration, Metros (talk) 19:43, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

New barnstar

I think we should design a green barnstar possibly with a U.S. dollar motif for upholding laissez faire values. I also plan on writing an article on laissez faire although some of my arguments are already covered in WP:EM. Sarsaparilla (talk) 23:11, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Cool, that would be awesome. My artistic skills are limited so it's actually quite helpful to have people like you around which could be yet another argument for keeping the shops since we need to encourage artistic talent to remain here. Sarsaparilla (talk) 23:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

A pertinent quote

In reference to these guys who say that userpage artwork distracts from productive editing, here are a couple quotes from The Anti-Capitalistic Mentality (see http://www.mises.org/etexts/mises/anticap/section4.asp):

Again there are grumblers who blame capitalism for what they call its mean materialism. They cannot help admitting that capitalism has the tendency to improve the material conditions of mankind. But, they say, it has diverted men from the higher and nobler pursuits. It feeds the bodies, but it starves the souls and the minds. It has brought about a decay of the arts. Gone are the days of the great poets, painters, sculptors and architects. Our age produces merely trash.
The judgment about the merits of a work of art is entirely subjective. Some people praise what others disdain. There is no yardstick to measure the aesthetic worth of a poem or of a building. Those who are delighted by the cathedral of Chartres and the Meninas of Velasquez may think that those who remain unaffected by these marvels are boors. Many students are bored to death when the school forces them to read Hamlet. Only people who are endowed with a spark of the artistic mentality are fit to appreciate and to enjoy the work of an artist.
Among those who make pretense to the appellation of educated men there is much hypocrisy. They put on an air of connoisseurship and feign enthusiasm for the art of the past and artists passed away long ago. They show no similar sympathy for the contemporary artist who still fights for recognition. Dissembled adoration for the Old Masters is with them a means to disparage and ridicule the new ones who deviate from traditional canons and create their own.

Von Mises wrote that the freedom of a seemingly unproductive group of intellectuals cannot be suppressed if great works to be created (see http://www.mises.org/etexts/mises/anticap/section5.asp )

The emergence of a numerous class of such frivolous intellectuals is one of the least welcome phenomena of the age of modern capitalism. Their obtrusive stir repels discriminating people. They are a nuisance. It would not directly harm anybody if something would be done to curb their bustle or, even better, to wipe out entirely their cliques and coteries.
However, freedom is indivisible. Every attempt to restrict the freedom of the decadent troublesome literati and pseudo-artists would vest in the authorities the power to determine what is good and what is bad. It would socialize intellectual and artistic effort. It is questionable whether it would weed out the useless and objectionable persons; but it is certain that it would put insurmountable obstacles in the way of the creative genius. The powers that be do not like new ideas, new ways of thought and new styles of art. They are opposed to any kind of innovation. Their supremacy would result in strict regimentation; it would bring about stagnation and decay.
The moral corruption, the licentiousness and the intellectual sterility of a class of lewd would-be authors and artists is the ransom mankind must pay lest the creative pioneers be prevented from accomplishing their work. Freedom must be granted to all, even to base people, lest the few who can use it for the benefit of mankind be hindered. The license which the shabby characters of the quartier Latin enjoyed was one of the conditions that made possible the ascendance of a few great writers, painters and sculptors. The first thing a genius needs is to breathe free air.

Your shop

I am proposing the creation of a wikicommunity that would contain pages such as your shop. See User_talk:Haemo#Deleted_articles Sarsaparilla (talk) 04:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

User talk:69.141.45.90

"Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Paul Johnson (writer), did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Sirkad(Talk) 01:54, 6 December 2007 (UTC)"

I recently read this greeting along with your comments re: an edit I made to Paul Johnson's page. Although I am fairly new to the Wikipedia editing process, I take exception to the implication that the edit was not "constructive" and I take strong exception to any implication, intentional or otherwise, that my edit was an act of vandalism. I removed the line in question, "Paul Johnson is friends with British-Jewish playwright Tom Stoppard, meeting with him for tea and biscuits" from Paul Johnson's page because it lacked relevance.

Unless Tom Stoppard is Paul Johnson's only friend, I fail to see why this reference is included under "Personal Life." I found it strange that in this section of Paul Johnson's page, Tom Stoppard is mentioned in concert with Paul Johnson's wife, children, and grandchildren. And exactly why is it relevant that Tom Stoppard is "British-Jewish"? It is a bizarre inclusion on this page, particularly in this section of the page, and I stand by its removal.

Despite this, I thank you for your greeting and hope that in the future reversions will be reserved for actual instances of vandalism. ScottmzScottmz (talk) 02:06, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: talk:69.141.45.90

"Well, I am not quite sure if you are agreeing with me or not but I will explain my actions. The line "Paul Johnson is friends with British-Jewish playwright Tom Stoppard, meeting with him for tea and biscuits" does not sound like something that was researched and added to wikipedia for the sake of the encyclopedia, all it sounds like to me is someone made this up. If this was indeed a true fact it would of had a reference, which it did not. My warning was not a "greeting" it was a warning that his edit did not appear to have contributed to wikipedia, it isnt always an instance of vandalism, it is simply an edit that "did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed." I still believe that my actions are justified and do not believe my edit should be reverted. Sirkadtalk 02:58, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

RE:Codesnippets

Thanks for your notice, however, I feel that that wikia will not be famous enough for new unexperienced HTML wikipedia editors to find that wikia. Also, Sarsaparilla's wikicommunity will never pass, he obviously hasn't read Wikipedia:Esperanza. The only hope for inexperienced wikipedia users looking for page design and such, is through a userfied shop, where they would stumble and maybe make a request. But, I may be wrong, I'll hope for codesnippet's best. -- penubag  03:17, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
